Pastor Sunday Adelaja: “ I am giving Ukraine and Ukrainian judiciary an opportunity to establish justice”

The 27th of September 2011 marked the 2nd hearing of the court case allegedly involving Pastor Sunday Adelaja and the collapsed company “King’s Capital”.

Members of the Embassy of God Church notably Pastors and members of the Apostolic Council as well as social activists and representatives of the African community in Kiev were all on hand to render their staunch support to Pastor Sunday Adelaja and the church during this critical moment in the churches history..

This move by members of the Church not only demonstrates their love, but also their unshakeable stand in their firm belief that Pastor Sunday is innocent and that God will always vindicate the righteous.

However, contrary to all expectations the court proceedings did not commence.

Pastor Sunday’s lawyer Andrey Fedur gave the reason for this adjournment of the of the court hearing saying,

“The court has adjourned the case following the absence of some of the lawyers from the prosecution team.”

The Media surrounded pastor and his lawyer with the hope of getting an exclusive interview as well as comments from the second hearing of the court case.

Questioning Pastor Sunday Adelaja about whether he believes his victory is certain he responded by saying:

“I do not only believe in my victory, but moreover I would like to declare before God, the whole Ukrainian nation and Ukrainian legislation that there is no place for punishment and blame where there is no crime.

I want to say one more time: I have been living in Ukraine for a long period of time, and I have a high respect for the Ukrainian legislation. All this time I have been doing and I continue to do only good for the benefit of this country.”

Also responding to questions from the  journalists on why Pastor Sunday wanted the case adjourned, Andrey Fedur responded by saying.

“You are most probably under delusion or have obtained your information from reading the newspapers on the internet. Pastor Sunday Adelaja never requested that the court hearing be postponed on the basis of his lack of proficiency in Ukrainian language.

Secondly, my client never requested for an interpreter from the court although, according to the law he is well within his right to request one. As a matter of fact, during today’s court session Pastor Sunday managed quite well without the services of an interpreter. He never and still has not requested for one”.

Pastor Sunday is an honest person and his expression of gratitude to the members of his church for their great support was greeted with applause and exclamations from all those who came out in their great numbers to offer their solidarity to the pastor. He later departed the venue after expressing his hope that the court proceedings will commence as planned on the forthcoming date and also after politely saying goodbye to the representatives of Media.

The next court hearing is on the 7th of October 2011 at 11.am prompt and will take place at the following address: 5 Koschizha street.
