We therefore thank God for His faithfulness. He did not allow the threat of imprisonment by Lutsenko and Tymoshenko to materialize and for this, we remain ever so grateful.
However the case is still pending. The new government did not drop the charges filed against Pastor Sunday and from all indications it looks like they are taking the case to court on the 13th September 2011.
The investigation which was supposed to last three months has finally come to a close after three years. We remain confident that they do not have a case. However, they are refusing to drop the allegations owing to political reasons and pressures from the Russian Orthodox Church.
On one hand, it is a good thing that they are taking the case to court seeing that Pastor Sunday has nothing to hide and he is innocent. On other hand however, it`s not so good due to the unfair and prejudiced judicial system that currently exists within the country. Everything here is done through hand control or telephone calls.
We would therefore appreciate your prayer support for Pastor Sunday that justice will prevail in the present circumstance.
