My foremost impression after attending HMT Stage-2 is as follows:
The HMT program is designed for men and women who are determined to join the ranks of history makers all over the world. At the end of the program we had to all confront the responsibility we carry to ensure that we have dominion on earth before Jesus returns. Not a dominion in prayer only but one that translates to building structures and systems in our communities and nations that would systematically advance the kingdom of God in all spheres of life. It was truly awesome!

Going Beyond Three Days-Embracing a “Lifestyle.” Pastor Derek Schneider
As we were leaving to head to the Kiev airport after completing the “History Makers Training” in November, the driver of our car asked another Pastor and me, “What are the two greatest emotions that we were feeling after completing such training?” Michael and I both agreed on one answer, and after sharing it, there was no need to discuss a second. We both agreed that “sorrow,” was one of the strongest emotions we felt after completing the training.
The reason for this sorrow was because now that we have heard such incredible teachings, endured such amazing yet challenging training, and received so much unfathomable wisdom, we now were overwhelmed by the awesome sense of being “responsible” for what we had acquired. Not only did I feel responsible to Pastor Sunday, the team, and myself-I felt responsible to God, to steward what I was blessed enough to experience and learn. Think of it...of all of our generation, or even of all the Christians in your respective countries, we were the one/s blessed by God to be able to come to Kiev, Ukraine and experience the History Makers Training.
To be honest, I truly felt that if I were to live the rest of my life and not apply at least 50% of what I learned at HMT, I would be filled with great “regret” at the end of my life. Why? Because I would truly have no excuse for not achieving my full potential. In 3 days, the secrets of some of the most influential leaders and history makers in the world were given to us-secrets that these men (including Pastor Sunday) have worked a life time to acquire. To think that in 3 days, we were privileged enough to receive all of that-and for such a small price. To me, this thought was absolutely overwhelming.
Upon my return to Canada it was almost impossible to share with people and summarize what I had experienced at HMT. Especially because it meant trying to convey the secrets of 3% of the world and summarize how they lived and created such success! I am certain that most of you might have found it the same. How really can you put into words what you experienced? I came to one conclusion-begin to activate it and put flesh to it. Become one of the 3%. At whatever price-become a history maker. I immediately began to try and put a strategy together to make this happen and ensure my success. If there was one thing I knew after taking the history makers training, it was that every success demands a strategy.
I am certain that I am speaking for most when I say that upon my return, the awesomeness of trying to “implement” what was learned was overwhelming. I think I know why; I am not sure if any of you from the team have this concept in your country or continent, but we have something we call “New Year’s Resolutions.”
Every year as we approach January 1st (the New Year) we make a list of things that we want to change, begin to do, or implement in our lives. These “resolutions” are “better ways of living” or habits we want to break, or principles we want to implement so that we can have greater success and live better. A typical example of a common one in North America is, the New Year’s Resolution to lose weight, eat right, and start going to the gym. We all, around that time create these noble resolutions, but history and statistics prove that very few actually follow through, and those that actually do make the attempt, usually don’t keep it up for long. In fact, in my country New Year’s Resolutions are so seldom actually accomplished that we have turned the phrase “New Year’s Resolution” into a joke, or phrase of irony.
The reason for this is, whenever you decide to implement a new set of habits, structures or principles, that you know will make you a better person, they usually require a new level of discipline, that your “old way of living” didn’t require. With excitement we love the idea of the success that our new routine and structure will bring, but when we go to actually implement it, we often are disappointed with the amount of effort that it is actually going to take to be consistent-and often, we shrink back. This is because you are introducing a new lifestyle and routine to an age old habit or routine that has been in your life for years, and is fastened on tight! You are essentially introducing a new lifestyle and trying to “compete” with your current convenient and comfort zone-the result...MAJOR discomfort!
Upon my return to Canada, I began to see the implementation of such an incredible new lifestyle in this way-I knew and was anticipating my own discomfort as I was about to radically make some changes. Praise God that Pastor Sunday already prepared us by teaching us “2 ounces of pain versus two tons of regret.” AND, that “pain is the greatest teacher.” I don’t know about you, but these concepts immediately challenged my Canadian “convenience” mindset, when I heard them. But after the History Makers Training, I was up for the challenge, and I hope that you are too!
Just as an encouragement, I created this article while away on a personal prayer retreat-the bulk of my time being spent on reviewing and trying to organize all that we learned. Here are a few thoughts that might be of some encouragement to those who attended, regarding following through and making the most out of what we learned. Here are a few steps that have helped me.
Steps to accepting the challenge of going beyond JUST the 3 days, and making it a “lifestyle.”
• If you can’t immediately incorporate ALL that you learned when you return home, at least take a few things that you can remember and implement them IMMEDIATELY! Example: Be stricter with your schedule, or make an attempt to read a book per week. Once you’ve read the book, make some notes and answer the 3 questions that HMT provided.
• Until you get a chance to hold your personal prayer retreat, utilize the audio CD’s and listen to the teachings in your car or while doing something at home.
• Hold a personal prayer retreat as soon as possible. Your “old” schedule will immediately try to suck you back in and consume all of your time, and without setting aside a few days of solitude, you probably will never re-visit the HMT material.
• While on your personal prayer retreat review ALL of the material in detail. This will remind you of all that you learned, inspire you, and unlock the grace and anointing that was there in Kiev, upon you again.
• Especially review the homework assignments and tasks (Svetlana sent them out to us) that we are to accomplish over the next number of months, and incorporate them into your schedule immediately to make sure you will do them.
• After reviewing all that you learned, make a “To Do” list of the things you want to begin incorporating, and maybe even include a time-line for how you want it to roll out. This can even include a chart or calendar of your goals.
Example:
Goal-to read one book per week.
Time: Read one hour each day from 8:00-9:00pm.
OR,
Goal- to be more “consistent” in efforts.
Method: utilize the Benjamin Franklin system of Self-perfection and self-control.
If you lead a ministry and want to introduce some concepts to your leaders, organize the material into concepts and set up a time line of how and when you want to introduce the material to them.
Example: The concept of “The Law of Conversion.”
Time-line: Each staff meeting for 3 weeks, I will teach on this concept.
• Begin to teach what you’ve learned. Teaching is one of the greatest forms of review and learning.
• If you find yourself failing in some areas and slipping back into your old habits, don’t be upset about it, just make every effort to jump right back into the new lifestyle
• Make a decision to live the “abnormal” and exceptional life-don’t fear the sudden change of lifestyle-embrace it and follow through with boldness and God’s grace will help you.
When I returned home from Ukraine and held a meeting with my Dad to present to him all that Pastor Sunday had taught us it was pretty much impossible. I spoke out loud to him and said, “How in the world am I going to be able to share all this with you?”
His answer was priceless. He said, “Well how do you eat an elephant?-One bite at a time.”
His answer was of course to be humorous, but it made a lot of sense, and removed some of the overwhelming feeling I had at that moment. I hope that this article could be of some encouragement to all of us, and I look forward to seeing everyone at the next History Makers Training.

Nice to hear from you Pastor, The HMT team was great, professional and apt. it was a presentation of system in itself. Am honestly overwhelmed and over joyed at the same time, I locked off to ma personal retreat same week of arrival from Friday to Sunday returned Monday Morning. It was the mostbeautiful experience i have Had so far, Trully it is a fruitfull Joy to totally lock out the world and just sit down with God. I went through all the teachings again, all the workshops and read The Jesus you never knew again, more critically this time, the Bible study produced lots of teachings to ma Spirit, and I discovered that that Environment/ surrounding of reasoning and, planning and fellowshiping with God does not stop. Wrote alot of ideas, schedules, teachings, two movies popped out of ma meditation wrote the scripts plus one Movie in Series. 3 book titles, city designs etc. Its trully up to us to convert the ideas we Get from the presence of God.
Another exciting event is ma friends in a fellowship we call corporate kings meet, we registered it as a company to promote the spread of the Kingdom message financially and to encourage the youth to persue their Kingdim purpose in the market place in the market place. I clearly dint know the way forward but after the HMT and personal retreat, God got me a direction to start. They were shocked at the brief and polished teaching I held at our meeting, yet I actually reserved the details. some have adviced that we need a Saturday to discuss all that we started to talk about. Starting to see this bigger than I thought. Told them you have to go to Kiev for yourselves. This is where I would seriously need your advice on the way forward. Ma goal as the head of the fellowship, is for corporate Kings to bring 12 to Kiev in April, and to have at least 1000 various leaders(busness start ups, NGO,Consultants) in the City of Kampala by end of 2011. The Youth hear fear to take initiative. These are ma youthful colleagues, average 30, most below 30.Who have lots of questions and ideas, but they dont know how to link that with the Church. Well am already hard on them even giving out assignments, that was on Tuesday. pastor I believe the African youth who early enough learn to own society problem in various Platforms w
Pastor, I need too to go through the training till the last part but the responsibility are coming up now. How do I deal with it. I am sure too I have a presentation to make in June of whats happening so far.
Please advice, the youth seem very geared to start making a change.

It was great seeing you again in Kiev and being in the History Maker training. I came with high expectations and they were all surpassed. One of my questions when I was coming was how to multiply what we were doing all over Chicago and take it to a higher level of influence for the kingdom. I got my answer through the training on setting up proactive and forward looking systems understanding the predictability of life.
Another thing that happened to me was an opening up of my mental capacity to think beyond limits especially in terms of numbers. After hearing you and your team talk about thousands and ten thousands and millions in terms of your goals, I cannot talk or think hundreds again. This is not something I have to force myself to do. My mind just keeps thinking influence on thousands and tens of thousands.
This is what I plan to do as a result of the HMT impartation. I will raise a thousand people in my team who will also touch 10000 people in Chicago in 2011. I am identifying 75 individuals in the church who I'm dividing into three home groups that I am will be leading on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday twice a month. Each home group will have 25 people each. Out of this 75 people, I am expecting 50 of them to make 2 new disciples each month of 2011. At the end of the year, each of these fifty will have at least 20 disciples each in their home groups which will run twice a month on alternate weeks to my home group. So we will have a thousand people in the team.
I am also creating a plan for touching 10000 people in Chicago in 2011 in the seven spheres. I'll let you know as soon as it is done in December
The other thing that happened to me at HMT, was the aspect of personal life management.
When I saw your goals for life, I was challenged. I also saw that you began things with the end in mind. I am compiling my life's goal and tweaking my time management schedule to accommodate them. I created what I call a life wheel, which represents my various values and roles which I rotate in life. I'll send it to you. Each of these values are now programmed into my calendar. I have started sharing this with my team here. In church on Sunday, we had a repeat of the night of values that we did in Ukraine when we died, listing and erasing things that contest with God. Adults, young children, youths etc came forward, falling on their kneels dying to various things in their lives. I found the video of the man who crushed his son on YouTube so I played it.
On Saturday, November 27th, I will be speaking to a gathering of all young adults of the Redeemed churches in Illinois on Legacy. I will be showing the video and preaching about living a life of value.
Another thing that happened at HMT was getting to see you in another arena than church. I am personally, a very intense person. Also I am a voracious reader and consumer of knowledge in various arena including science etc. I am an electronic engineer by training, I studied computer programming and softwares then I studied theology and Urban studies in my masters and I begin my PHd in Leadership in a few weeks. I say this because I had always thought something was wrong with my quest for knowledge about how the earth works, that it was a distraction, but That notion was destroyed when I learned about your intense life, your prolific pursuit of wisdom and knowledge. For the first time in my life, I found someone that I could look up to in that area.
Also, The obituary exercise we did made me see that I was not living life to the maximum because of perfectionism and procrastinations. For examples, there are many book ideas that god has giving me for which I either have started or have written but have not published them because I am either waiting for the perfect time or feel I need to perfect them. That has changed after HMT, I will be releasing at least five books that I had written by mid next year and some other by the end of the year.
I am also thankful to you for the follow up that you have instituted for HMT. I love the accountability it gives me and I will do all the assignments and report in to you regularly on what is going on here.
I will be sending a team to HMT with Debo in April.

One is called City Flames.
That is the one i will be giving you the details for now. City flames is presently active. This is a system for raising intercessors to pray for the city. Our goal is to raise 10,000 intercessors in New York City, each one praying for at least an hour for the city each week, in 12 months. But our system projects at least 81,000 in 12 months (and by the same geometric progression it should be more than 300 million people praying for their cities world wide in 24 months) you will see the details pasted and attached below.
But this is the Short Version:
We started with 10 people who we are discipling right now. This 10 has gone out as we speak to find 2 each to disciple and to pray with for the city. Each one of the their 2 will repeat the same thing. Everyone has no more than a month to find 2 disciples for intercession and repeat the same thing. THIS IS THE CITY FLAMES
The other one is called club 10.
We are an evangelistic non profit organisation and club 10 is a fund raising system for this campaign. Club 10 is simply a system that challenges willing participants to commit to supporting us with $10 a month and also to find 2 other individuals who they can challenge (based on the trust they have for our work) to do the exact thing they have done, that is supporting us and raising supporters for us. PART 1: “New life for New York City by 2012”[i]
What is City Flames?
City Flames is a group of believers that love this city and this country and have committed themselves to stand in the gap, in prayer for her.
They have also committed to challenge and encourage others to do so.
The flames represent
- The fire of the Holy Ghost,
- The flames of the passionate love of God burning on the altar of our hearts for the ETERNAL souls of men and women,
- The flames of mercy for the needy, the poor, the broken and the bound,
- The flames of righteousness, holiness and the fear of the Lord,
- The flames of purity and integrity before our God,
- The flames of non-stop intercession before our God for our beloved city and the people that live in her.
MAY THE FIRE OF OUR PRAYERS NEVER GO OUT BEFORE OUR GOD. MAY OUR LIVES BE LIVING FLAMES THAT BURN TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND TO THE PROSPERITY OF HIS KINGDOM ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN, IN JESUS NAME, AMEN.
How does City Flames work?
You commit to praying for the city for a total of 1hour per week. You pray with the person who approached you, as well as two others who you would bring on board.
You can get as creative as possible, praying on the phone, on Skype, in person, anywhere, and at anytime. However, please use your time wisely so that you will not wear out before you get started.
What will we be praying about?
The prayer points will include, but are not limited to, asking God:
- For the safety and prosperity of the residents and visitors of New York City. Asking for the protection of the merciful hand of God from all evil and disasters, natural or man-made.
- To forgive the sins, the wickedness and foolishness of the citizens and visitors of New York City before God, and wash them in the blood of Jesus. Asking Him to tear down the kingdom of darkness, and let the kingdom of God come and His will be done in the hearts and lives of the people in this city.
- To Pour out His Holy Spirit on New York City. Asking Him to let men, women and children in this city receive from God the gift of eternal life, which Christ died to give to all people.
- To pour out His righteousness on this city, and let God’s righteousness, justice and mercy will reign. Let the fear, the faith, and the love of God reign in the heart of every man, woman, and child in this city.
- To bless, keep, and use the ministers of the gospel and all God’s people in this city for His glory. Pray for leaders, both secular and non-secular.
- For the peace of Jerusalem, and for the Jews around the world.
- Pray also for this country as a whole and your native country. But remember that the prayer focus is your city.
- Pray for Brother Michael and Sister Angela Nwadiuko, the leaders of this outreach, and Christ the Lord Evangelistic Association. Pray that they will continue to follow the leading of the Lord, pray for strength and continued grace to work in the vineyard, and that they will not look back even as they have put their hands on the plough. That God will keep them holy, give them wisdom and cover them with His blood and His mercy, keeping them from all evil.
What will my participation in City Flames mean?
- If you and 9 other people each recruit 2 people to city flames, and they in turn do the same, and this recruitment happens in 1 month intervals (at the minimum) we will have 81,910 people praying for New York City in 12 months, and 335,544, 310 interceding for New York City in 24 months.
- This hour of prayer will revolutionalize your spiritual life
- If you are a new Christian, you will experience the power of prayer in your own life and the life of others
- Your participation will impact your city, which will in turn impact the world. It’s happened before (Read about the Layman’s revival in the 1850s)
- You can change the world with an hour of dedicated prayer. “… The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results, James 5:16, NLT)
- God rewards those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6)
- It is good and acceptable to God that supplications, prayers, intercessions and giving of thanks be made for all men (1 Timothy 2:1-3)
- There is power in a prayer of agreement. “… if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of My Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 18:19).

The History Makers Training in English held in Kiev was a great input to my life. Our Senior Pastor was there a month earlier and was motivated to invite us in the leadership to return with him in June. Five other Pastors went along to Pastor Sunday Adelaja’s 3-day intensive training.
A pre-training tour gave us the opportunity to visit the fieldwork of some of the many social engagements that members of the Embassy of God Church have taken up across the nation of Ukraine. We saw ordinary believers doing extra ordinary work and bringing change in their society. They are practical lights and salts to their communities. The scale of involvement was widespread.
The training itself exposed us to the thinking that generated what the church is achieving. We saw the engine room of the church, how it functions and how these people were groomed. It clarified doctrines of Christ and elevated the gospel of the kingdom. I was personally energized by the truth that I am part of a generation that great and unusual things are expected from. It was a cleansing, mind setting experience, which is certain to change our goals and operations as a church. I learnt that I could either be religious or open up myself to the will of God.
The training moved me from declaring the Gospel to expressing the Gospel. You can get same as long as you can attain the hallmark of all disciples and endure the ‘boot-camp drill’ that instills the discipline.
This training is highly recommended for church leaders and members alike who are tired of the same old result of not impacting the society adequately and for those who are seeking and asking the Lord for the ‘next level’. This is the ultimate level.
